Farewell to 2017
It's hard to believe that another year has flown by, and what a busy year we have had at Mawson & Company!
In March we welcomed a new Stylist to the team. Australian-born Kylie Crompton-Malcolm has worked for several prestigious Aveda salons in London and has also had a very successful career as a freelance session stylist working with the likes of Kylie Minogue, Minnie Driver, Sean Bean, Richard Ashcroft, Guy Richie, Mercury Records, Vogue, and Harpers. Kylie is now in the salon Monday through to Thursday.
April saw our fearless Assistant Manager Jane abseil down Spinnaker Tower in Portsmouth in memory of her brother Marcus, raising an incredible £1,800 for the Multiple Sclerosis Society.
In June we were proud and thrilled to be a finalist in the 'Hampshire's Favourite Hair Salon' category at the Muddy Stiletto Awards.
The summer months saw Ross and Kylie work their magic on model Hannah, and the resulting image (below) was our entry into the Aveda Global Fashionista competition.
However, one of our favourite moments of the year has to be watching Tony style 10 year-old Millie-Mai's hair.
Millie-Mai donated her hair to the Little Princess Trust charity, while also raising money for Cancer Research UK.
Millie's hair will be used to make a wig for a child who is undergoing treatment for cancer and we were honoured to be a part of her fundraising efforts.
The last few months of 2017 have seen a lovely range of new Aveda products available in the salon (Limited Edition Pure-Fume mists are a particular favourite) and we also launched the Mawson & Company Gift Card. During the year we have continued our in-salon education programme, and also introduced Aveda Pramasana Scalp Care Treatments to our guests.
With the new year almost upon us we look forward to continuing to innovate and enhance our offering in 2018 and may we take this opportunity to wish all of our valued guests a very Happy New Year.
